Meet Our March Spotlight Family: The Moorehead’s

Shontee Moorehead is a devoted mother and caregiver whose life beautifully reflects faith, perseverance, and service. She is the proud mother of Tariana, Makayla, Ashanti, Sade, and Kristopher, and lovingly embraces her son-in-love, Yousne (“Chris”), as an integral part of the family. Together, they also care for her beloved 95-year-old grandmother, Michiko Moorehead, whose strength, wisdom, and legacy continue to bless the generations that follow.

Shontee shares, “God has continued to do His big thing by restoring my faith and helping my children continue to cultivate a relationship with Him.”

Shontee joined Abundant Life Community Worship Center (ALCWC) in May 2024 and has since become a dedicated and joyful part of our church family. She serves faithfully within the Women of Worth (WOW) Life Group, supporting Minister Jessica Roberts as an administrator. In this role, she helps coordinate events, facilitate women’s gatherings, and create meaningful spaces where women can grow deeper in their walk with God and in fellowship with one another.

Her heart for ministry extends beyond the walls of the church. As Director of Operations for Welcome Ministries, Shontee helps advance the Kingdom of God by fostering global discipleship through in-depth Bible study and transformative teaching. She is deeply passionate about creating opportunities for believers around the world to encounter Christ through community, scripture, and love.

Professionally, Shontee serves as a Business Director in Healthcare, bringing more than 21 years of experience serving underserved populations. Her leadership is rooted in compassion, access, and equity—values she carries seamlessly into her ministry life. She believes in bridging faith and service, empowering others both spiritually and practically to walk boldly in their God-given purpose.

When asked about her favorite scripture, Shontee points to Psalm 139, sharing that it reflects her journey of faith and rediscovery:

“Psalm 139 reminds me that even when I felt lost or unseen, God always knew me. Every part of my story—every setback, every breakthrough—was part of His design. He saw me, loved me, and called me back to Him. That truth anchors me daily.”

Outside of work and ministry, Shontee enjoys crocheting, spending quality time with family, and attending women’s retreats and gatherings that renew her spirit. Her home radiates love, care, and legacy—three generations strong—anchored in faith and guided by God.

We are honored to spotlight Shontee Moorehead and her family, celebrating their faith, resilience, and commitment to God’s Kingdom. Through every generation, their lives testify that when we say “yes” to God, He does exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or imagine.

Meet Our February Spotlight Family: The Pich's

We are thrilled to highlight the Pich family for our Spotlight this month! Meet Siyorth (Ort), Caroline, Logan, and Scarlet – a family that truly embodies the joy of togetherness. Whether it’s camping, hiking, or heading to the ocean, they seize every opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and explore the great outdoors.

Ort and Caroline have been partners for an incredible 16 and a half years, married for almost 10 of those, and their journey together has been nothing short of amazing. They’ve been attending Abundant Life Church since Mother’s Day of 2024, and became official members on September 21, 2024.

Caroline has eagerly embraced the community at Abundant Life, joining both the WOW Life group and the Wife’s Group. She has also taken the Foundations class to deepen her faith and connection to the church. Meanwhile, Ort is an active member of the Men’s Group, continuing to grow in his spiritual walk. Logan and Scarlet, ever enthusiastic, are involved in the Teen Group, making the most of the opportunities to connect with their peers.

In their professional lives, Caroline works as a warehouse associate, while Ort is a skilled machine mechanic at a plastic bottling company. Their work ethic and dedication to their respective careers only reflect the passion they have for their family and their faith.



Logan, a bright 10th grader, is already pushing boundaries by taking college courses alongside his high school curriculum. Not to be outdone, Scarlet, a driven 7th grader, is tackling honors classes and earning high school credit as well. It’s clear that academic success runs in the family.

The Pich family feels truly blessed by their time at Abundant Life, and their excitement is evident as they continue to grow spiritually and personally together. We are honored to have them as part of our community, and we look forward to seeing all the great things God has in store for them in the years ahead.

Meet Our January Spotlight Family: The Wilford’s

Greg, Tiffany, Brandon, and Homer (their 11-year-old Australian Shepherd)

Greg and Tiffany are lifelong Tacoma residents who have been together for over 24 years. Tiffany was raised at Shiloh Baptist Church, graduated from Bellarmine Prep and the University of Puget Sound, pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha, and now serves as Regional HR Manager at US Foods. Greg, also a Tacoma native, studied at Western Washington and later earned degrees in human services, business leadership, and project management. He is the owner of Stokey’s LLC, a general contracting business celebrating 10 years in 2026.

Their son Brandon, a Bellarmine Prep graduate, is building a career in construction and real estate. He is co-owner of Stokey’s LLC and completing his real estate broker license. Homer, their beloved rescue pup, keeps the family smiling.

Tiffany and Brandon joined ALCWC in 2017, and Greg in 2018, with deep family ties to the Montgomery family dating back to Greater Christ Temple. Tiffany serves on the Worship Team, Brandon on the Media Team (and will volunteer in Children’s Ministry), and Greg as on-call General Contractor.



The Wilford’s are grateful to be part of the Abundant Life family and thankful for God’s faithfulness, prayers, and support.

Meet Our December 2025 Spotlight Family: Jeremiah & Niyata Morris

Jeremiah Sr. and his wife, Niyata. They've been together for six years and recently celebrated their marriage.

In August 2025, they were blessed with their son, Jeremiah Joe Llewellyn Morris Jr., who will be turning five months old soon.

Jeremiah’s parents, Assistant Pastors Jason and Carol Morris, are a big part of their family life. As a family, they enjoy sightseeing, shopping, and simply spending quality time together. Jeremiah has a passion for basketball and has recently picked up bowling as a new hobby.

Niyata loves cooking and takes joy in preparing meals for family and friends.

They’ve been part of ALCWC for over five years, regularly attending services and church events. They’re excited to become more involved with the couples’ and family groups.

Professionally, Jeremiah works at Pierce Transit as a Fleet Care Attendant and holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He also organizes physical training activities for children at his family’s childcare business, PeeWee’s Learning Center. Niyata is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Jeremiah and Niyata are both incredibly grateful for the blessings God has given them and are excited to see what He has in store for their family’s future.

Meet Our November 2025 Spotlight Family: Ebonee Holley

This month, we are delighted to shine the spotlight on Ebonee Holley and her teen daughter, Emoni!

Ebonee has worked as a dental assistant and biller for 20 years and enjoys making scented candles in her spare time. Emoni will be starting high school this year and loves soccer, drawing, and dancing.

The Holley’s began attending Abundant Life in July 2024 and feel truly blessed to be part of this church family. Ebonee shares that she has gained so much knowledge of Christ through ALCWC—especially through Life Groups, 30 Days to a Renewed Mind, Women’s WOW, and the beautiful fellowship with the women at RISE!.

Meet Our October 2025 Spotlight Family: Maggie Cole

This month, we are delighted to shine the spotlight on Maggie Cole, a woman whose journey beautifully reflects faith, growth, and community.

Maggie is both a devoted daughter and sister—her parents live in sunny Arizona, while her younger brother makes his home in Indiana. Family has always been an important part of her story, grounding her in love and connection no matter the distance.

Passionate about serving others, Maggie wears two meaningful hats in her career: she is a dedicated special education teacher and a yoga instructor, bringing both patience and peace to those around her.

In August of 2024, Maggie joined Abundant Life Community Worship Center and quickly found her place within the community. Today, she is honored to serve on the Women Of Worth (W.O.W) Leadership Team, where her heart for service continues to shine.

Maggie gives special thanks to her dear sister, Gina Forest, for introducing her to Abundant Life. She also shares her deep gratitude to the entire church family for embracing her with open arms.

“Over this past year, I’ve grown so much because of the lessons I’ve learned and the community I’ve found here,” Maggie says. “I’m a better woman today because of Abundant Life. God bless all of you!”

Meet Our September 2025 Spotlight Family: Sonny Thongoulay

This month, we’re honored to spotlight Sonny Thongoulay—a passionate father, creative entrepreneur, and devoted member of Abundant Life.

A proud dad of four and grandfather of four, Sonny cherishes time with his family, describing them as his spiritual oxygen. “Spending time with my kids teaches me how to be a better father,” he shares. “God speaks to me through them.”

Sonny has attended Abundant Life for nearly two years and calls it a life-changing blessing. He’s a regular at Sunday Bible Study and enjoys serving behind the scenes—often helping with coffee setup and bringing Cinnabon for the kids.

He recalls a touching Father’s Day moment when he received an unexpected gift that reminded him of the power of giving: “It made me feel so favored by God. I truly believe in the Decree of Giving.”

By day, Sonny manages a Lids retail store, and he also runs a film and fashion company called WARLORD. His heart for outreach shines through his ministry to the unhoused, where he humbly washes feet and provides new socks and shoes. Recently, he hosted a “BBQ & Baptism Day,” feeding hundreds and baptizing 11 individuals. “Jesus is showing out!” he says.

Sonny’s love for worship, community, and growth is evident every Sunday. “The worship is next level, and Pastor Dan’s joy is contagious. I leave inspired every time.”

Thank you, Sonny, for your creativity, kindness, and servant’s heart. You are a true blessing to the Abundant Life family!

Meet Our August 2025 Spotlight Family: The Headspeth’s

This month, we’re honored to feature Michael and Stephanie Headspeth as our Spotlight Family!

Michael, originally from Brodnax, Virginia, is a proud father to his daughter LaToya and grandfather to LaTisha and Noel. He is a retired U.S. Army veteran who served faithfully for 21 years. After retiring, Michael settled in Durham, North Carolina, where he became an active member of World Overcomers Christian Church (WOCC), serving in both the Inner City Mission Ministry and the Children's Ministry.

Stephanie hails from the Tacoma/Lakewood area in Washington State. She has one son, Jovan (married to Dara), and a granddaughter, Eloise.

Michael and Stephanie first met in 1985 while Michael was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. Although life took them in different directions, they reconnected in 2018—31 years later. In March 2024, Michael made the decision to move to Washington to be with Stephanie. The couple was joyfully married in Virginia in August 2024.

While searching for a new church home, they visited ALCWC in May 2024 and have been attending ever since. They enjoy being part of the church family and look forward to getting involved by serving in one or more ministries soon.

Professionally, Michael works as a Senior Sales Engineer for a company based in North Carolina, while Stephanie serves as a Human Resources Consultant with the State.

Meet Our July 2025 Spotlight Family: The Shelton Family

Meet the Shelton family—DeVaunte, Alysia, Koliaha, and Iolani—a vibrant and creative household full of artistic energy and passion.

DeVaunte is a talented artist and animator, known for bringing ideas to life through his work. In addition to his visual art, he’s also musically gifted, playing both the piano and drums. Alysia, his wife, is a gifted writer with a keen eye for photography, capturing moments and stories through her lens. Their creativity continues in their children: Koliaha, who plays the viola and has a love for sports, and Iolani, who enjoys both the cello and drums.

The Shelton’s became part of the ALCWC family in 2022 and quickly found their place within the community. DeVaunte shares his musical gifts by playing the keys during the closeout service, serving faithfully and joyfully.

Professionally, DeVaunte runs his own business, focusing on art commissions and animation, while Alysia works as a dedicated mail carrier for the USPS.



For the Shelton family, ALCWC is more than just a church—it’s a home. They feel deeply blessed to be surrounded by such a loving and supportive community and are grateful to grow, serve, and thrive together with their church family.

Meet Our June 2025 Spotlight Family: The Jackson-Bradley’s

We are a beautiful, blended family — Kendie Jackson, Demetric Bradley, Kendall Jackson, Kenderrick Bradley, and Kenan Bradley. When we’re all together, there are seven of us! My husband and I have been married for nearly 12 years and have shared 13 wonderful years together. The boys and I love spending quality time as a family — especially enjoying the amazing meals my husband loves to cook!

Our connection to this incredible ministry goes all the way back to day one. Over the last three — almost four — years, we’ve been actively involved and feel truly at home. We’re so grateful for our church family. You’ve always embraced us with love and allowed us to be our authentic selves. For that, we thank God for each of you.



Kendie shares, “It’s an honor to be part of what I fondly call ‘the baddest worship team this side of heaven!’ Worship and singing are true passions of mine, and serving in this ministry fills me with so much joy.” Outside of church, I work as a Patient Care Coordinator at Bright Now Dental in Lakewood.

Meet Our May 2025 Spotlight Family: Andrene Johnson

It’s an honor to share a glimpse of my story with the Abundant Life family. I come from a close-knit, faith-driven family with deep roots in the Tacoma area. My parents, Phillip and Denise Johnson, have been proud residents of the Tacoma metro community for many years. I have a twin brother—also named Phillip—and we recently celebrated our 40th birthday on February 1st. I'm also incredibly proud to be the mom of my 19-year-old son, Derek “AJ” James, who is currently a freshman at Southeastern University in Puyallup. The youngest in our family is my sweet sister, Takota Johnson, a 15-year-old high school sophomore full of potential and promise.

My life has been shaped by a powerful legacy of resilient Black women who’ve left their mark on both Greater Christ Temple Church and the Tacoma community. My great-grandmother Florence Baptiste, my grandmother Alice Tinner, and my mother Denise Johnson all worshiped under the leadership of Bishop and Dr. Montgomery. Their faith and perseverance continue to inspire me daily.

I’ve been attending Abundant Life for nearly three years, and I can honestly say it feels like the church I’ve been praying for. From the moment I walked in, I felt seen, safe, and spiritually fed. I love starting my Sundays with the Inspiration Sessions and staying plugged in through Life Groups like WOW and The Power of a Renewed Mind. These spaces have become a true source of strength, growth, and connection for me.

During the week, I work in Procurement as a Buyer for a manufacturing company that specializes in ship repair for Navy vessels and Washington State Ferries.

Abundant Life has been a refuge for my soul—a place where I can show up exactly as I am, without fear of judgment. It’s where I’ve found freedom in worship, community in fellowship, and healing through love. While I’m grateful to already be involved, I truly believe God has even more for me here. I’m simply trusting His timing and saying yes to whatever comes next.

Meet our April Spotlight Family: The Chapman’s

Gordon and Clara Chapman, devoted followers of God, have been attending ALCWC for nine years. 

Gordon serves as a Deacon within the ministry and they both enjoy attending weekly services and participating in prayer and Bible study sessions. 

Despite facing physical challenges, their unwavering faith and perseverance have inspired many within the church.

Both are happily retired and faithfully await God's blessings in the Name of Jesus. 

Meet Our March 2025 Spotlight Family: William Kirk

Will, as he is affectionately known, has been a part of ALCWC for eight months. He’s an active member, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed, and participates regularly in the Men’s Life Group.

A bit about Will: he is of mixed heritage, with a German mother and a Black father who met while his father was serving in the US Army.

Professionally, Will is a talented Graphic Designer and Illustrator, specializing in logos, covers, flyers, and illustrated books.

He shared, “I’ve prayed for a church home for many years. For most of my life, I’ve worshipped God in solitude. I’m so grateful to be part of this church family, and I feel a deep sense of responsibility to the members here to become the best version of myself.”

Mother Stephanie is a loving wife to Michael, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her heart is filled with a deep love for both God and people, and her life reflects her commitment to faith, family, and service. We’re thrilled to share her inspiring story with you.

Meet Our January 2025 Spotlight Family: Leah VaDol West

Leah VaDol West, 31, is a proud pet parent to two Dachshund mixes—Biggie, 3, and Jenasys, 9. Raised by two military parents, Latonia Rucker and Levander West Jr., Leah is the middle child and only girl, with two brothers, Levander and Landon.

Leah began attending ALCWC on March 17th, 2024, and has since become a dedicated member of our community. She serves on the worship team and co-facilitates the Women of Worth (WOW) Life group alongside Minister Jessica Roberts. Leah contributes by overseeing the group's décor and creating a peaceful, beautiful atmosphere where our sisterhood can thrive.

A gifted creative writer and spoken word artist, Leah has shared her inspiring poems with ALCWC, further demonstrating her talent and passion for expression.



Professionally, Leah works in property management as a Centralized Process Associate, specializing in delinquency, asset recovery, and compliance for properties in the Lakewood/Tacoma area.

Leah’s passion for serving, hospitality, and fostering supportive environments for women to embrace their femininity led her to launch Legacy Events & Design in October 2024. The business focuses on providing royal, luxurious, and elegant event planning and design, regardless of size. The vision for Legacy Events & Design came to Leah during a challenging period of her life in 2021—amid the COVID pandemic and the dissolution of a relationship. She reflects on this time of personal struggle, saying, "With the loss of my confidence and self-love, God has taken me on a journey of restoration over the last three years, helping me become the woman I am today. I am now living the testimony of an overcomer and witnessing what God can do in your life when you say YES and walk in obedience."

Leah’s journey is one of strength, resilience, and grace, and we are honored to feature her as our Spotlight this new year.

Meet Our December 2024 Spotlight Family: The Payne’s

Marie and her son, Stefon Payne relocated to Washington from the East Coast in 2001. Marie says, “We absolutely love beautiful places especially since God is love; We love Washington State!”

For over a year, they have both enjoyed their worship experience since becoming members of ALCWC. Marie cheerfully assists in church administration and Stefon is an integral part of the Music and Media Teams.

After working many years in education administration, Marie is a retiree and is enjoying God’s blessings. Stefon works in the community teaching music to youth by showing them a positive way to spend their spare time.

“We truly love being members of ALCWC. It’s such a positive and wonderful family environment. We love God with all our hearts and just want to be a ‘Light for The Father’ – through Jesus Christ, our EVERYTHING!”

Meet Our November 2024 Spotlight Family: Marvin Britton

Marvin is originally from Oakland, California and was an avid athlete who grew up playing multiple sports. He has a 16-year-old son named Elijah. They enjoy spending time together playing video games and talking about sports.

For over a year, Marvin has been attending ALCWC. He has been instrumental and supportive in the set up and breakdown of various church events and activities when needed. Marvin expressed, “I like the family style environment, and personable leadership at ALCWC.”

In his professional life, Marvin is a facilities supervisor at Compass Group at Microsoft where he’s worked for over five years.  He says, “I enjoy the people I work with and manage.”

In his spare time, Marvin loves playing basketball. However, due to a knee injury that occurred earlier this year, he’s currently enjoying other hobbies and activities that are less physical. 

Meet Our October 2024 Spotlight Family: The Swindell’s

The Swindells are a busy family of five. Patric is originally from Maryland while Vanessa is a Texas native. They married in January 2015 and have three children: Lexy, Patric Jr. (PJ), and Levi.

They were a military family who visited Abundant Life and decided to make it their church home in 2018. After a year, the Swindells relocated to Colorado Springs, CO due to the Army.  During their time in Colorado, Patric was medically discharged. Patric and Vanessa say they relied on God and His calling to relocate back to Washington and reconnect with Abundant Life.

Serving at ALCWC is where their heart is. Patric is a Deacon and head of security while Vanessa works with the youth and a member of the RISE! planning team. They were also recently asked to serve on the Executive Board and are very excited about this new opportunity.

Professionally, Patric works for Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Vanessa is employed at the City of Tacoma: HEAL Team (Homeless Engagement Alternative Liaison).



"We are committed to the mission and vision of ALCWC. Our purpose is to serve in whichever capacity helps the church grow and help transform the lives that come in through the doors. It is a true honor to serve alongside each leader and member, and most importantly, love the way God has called us to love, " expresses the Swindells.

Meet Our September 2024 Spotlight Family: Jarvis Henderson

Jarvis officially joined Abundant Life in December 2023. He has a passion for serving and offering both his talents and time on the service experience and leadership teams, media and sound, and is looking forward to working with youth and young adults soon. 

He has a sister named Crystal and a brother-in-law named Donald, one niece and two nephews. Jarvis is also the sole caretaker of his grandparents Bill and Jeannie Johnson.

Jarvis lost his beloved mother Tina Marie Roberts-McGilberry over a year ago and misses her dearly.

In his professional life, Jarvis works in the education system. He is also a motivational keynote speaker, owns a business, is an author and life coach.

Jarvis is excited to be at ALCWC to share his talents and be used by God to serve His people.

Meet Our August 2024 Spotlight Family: Hazel Robinson

Hazel joined the ALCWC family in 2022. She has two adult children and five granddaughters. She also has one sister and two brothers.

She actively participates in the pre-service “Time of Prayer & Inspiration” gatherings and is also looking forward to becoming a greeter on Sundays.  You can find her every Sunday sitting in her favorite spot in church praising and worshipping God.

She is a teacher for the Tacoma Public School District, where she has been employed for several years.

Hazel shares that she has grown so much spiritually since becoming a member at ALCWC.

Meet Our July 2024 Spotlight Family: Dana Monteiro

Dana, along with her daughter, Angelica Soriano, joined the ALCWC family two years ago.

 “It was just the two of us, we can make it if we try, family of two. Now it is the two of us, with additions to the family of the kids that I have adopted. I have now become “Mom” to Senira Elhers Wade, Dominic Snyder, Jauntae Chisolm, and Mirian (Mar) Silva-Granados. God has really increased us with new blessings.”

Dana currently serves on the Praise and Worship team. When time allows, she helps to support RISE! with food donations and distribution. She has also recently led a life group called F.I.R.E. where meaningful connections were made with purposeful prayer.

Angelica is part of the youth/teen group and uses her gift of outreach to bring her friends from school into the ALCWC family. She occasionally helps in the sound booth and also volunteers at the Commissary on JBLM when she can. Additionally, Angelica is certified in babysitting.



Dana is a Supply NCO (SSG Monteiro) in the US Army handling logistics full-time for the Army Reserve.

Dana is grateful to the Ware family who introduced her to Abundant Life and says, “The consistency of love and support at Abundant Life has lifted the veil of sadness and loneliness in our lives. Our church family has given us a true sense of community and has served to revive Jesus as we know Him in our lives and especially in our home.”
