The loving couple in this picture is how it all began.
Pastor Dan’s parents – the recently deceased Bishop C. E. and Dr. Elinor Montgomery built a legacy of love.
Together, they founded Greater Christ Temple Church as well as the Oasis of Hope Center in Tacoma, WA.
They instilled in their children the importance of serving God and people.
Dan, as he is affectionately called, has a God-given gift with people and is carrying the legacy of love forward.
He genuinely cares about people becoming their best selves through Christ.
Dan is one of ten children born to the late Bishop C. E. Montgomery and Dr. Elinor Montgomery.
In his dealings over the years, he has seen people become disenfranchised with church as usual. He has seen people struggle with “church hurts”. He has seen people wonder if God still loved them in their “as is” condition.
Dan has a heart especially for the youth and helping them develop into adults that contribute to their communities, as well as single parents who need emotional support while performing the most important job on earth – raising good kids.
Dan and his wife, Cheryl of 33 years are a team in the ministry of life.
They have been blessed with two sons, a daughter-in-love and two beautiful grand-daughters.
Cheryl loves to “connect the dots” between the Scriptures and real life. Whether teaching people how improving their credit is connected to being a good steward to how having and accomplishing goals gives God glory; how loving your family helps people see the love of God in your life.
They have willingly accepted the God-given assignment of reaching the lost, the hurting and disenfranchised people of our community by sharing the message of the Gospel: - that God loves us and has always loved us; that God longs to be in relationship with us; that God’s waiting for YOU to come home.
